Ohio State Buckeyes
Seasons -- 2005 -- 2006 -- 2007 -- 2008 -- 2009 -- 2010 -- 2011 -- 2012 -- 2013
2006 Record - 12-1
OSU Gets Outplayed Huge in BCS Title Game!!! OSU 14 - Florida 41
Troy Smith had a horrible game. Ted Ginn Jr. was knocked out of the game on the Buckeye's first posession. The offense did absolutely nothing, and Florida thoroughly outplayed the Buckeyes tonight. Florida deserves this championship, they won the game without question. I'm not saying that OSU would have beaten them, but I sure would have loved to see the game where there wasn't a 51 day layoff. This is not Florida's fault, the blame belongs on the NCAA for not instituting a playoff system, and the Big Ten for ending their season mid-November. If there had been a playoff system, perhaps the Buckeyes never reach the title game, but it likely wouldn't have been a blow out either, despite who played in it. I'm sorely disappointed, it was a very painful game to watch.

LSU Dominates Notre Dame, Handing The Irish Their 8th Straight Bowl Loss!!!
Notre Dame is star crossed. Definitely over-hyped, year in and year out. LSU is consistently a strong team. I didn't see too much of this game, I hate adding to the hype. Either way, the Irish faithful have to be absolutely seething...
|
USC Demolishes Michigan 32-18!!!
USC and Michigan played close in the first half, playing to a 3-3 tie, but in the second half it was all USC. USC completely dismantled Michigan's defense. I suspect Lloyd Carr is going to have an uncomfortable offseason in Ann Arbor. I doubt the Michigan faithful will tolerate 3 straight years of losing the final 2 games of the season. Hope the Buckeyes win the title game next week.
|
Penn State Beats Tennessee 20-10, And Wisconsin Beats Arkansas 17-14!!!
In 2 very large games, the Big Ten bests the SEC. I didn't watch the Penn State game, so I can't say too much about it, but the Wisconsin game I did watch, and it was a great game. Both teams came out to play. The game was in question till the final play of the game. Go Big Ten. Let's see how Michigan fares against USC. Should be a good game, I'm beginning to watch it now.

Troy Smith Wins 2006 Heisman Trophy
In the largest margin for decades, Troy Smith won the Heisman Trophy, and marks OSU's first Heisman since Eddie George in 1995. Also Smith makes OSU's 7th Heisman winner. Smith has a 25-2 record as a starter, going 10-1 against ranked teams. He also has a 3-0 mark against Michigan. During the regular season he completed 199 of 297 passes for 2,507 yards and a Buckeye record 30 touchdowns.

OSU Will Face Florida For National Title
Finally, the BCS has named an opponent for OSU for January 8. We'll play the winner of the SEC conference. I'm sure there are tons of Michigan fans that have a legitimate complaint, but hey guys... You got your shot. I just love Jim Tressel. The USC loss to UCLA was just stunning, I think!
|
OSU Beats Michigan, 42-39!!! We're Going To The
Title Game!!!!!!!!! 12-0!!!!!
What a game?!?!?!? In a close game, but with OSU more or less leading the whole way, the Buckeyes beat Michigan for the 5th time in 6 years, to win the Big Ten title outright for the first time since 1984. I'm of the opinion, that these 2 teams are the best teams in college football. Nevertheless, the Buckeyes ARE the best team in college football, and WILL play for the national title. Needless to say I'm extatic. Jim Tressel has now gone 5-1 against Michigan!!!
|
OSU Throttles Northwestern, 54-10
Finally, it's here. It's official, unbeaten Ohio State will play unbeaten Michigan, ranked #1, and #2 respectively, next weekend. Ohio State handled Northwestern, and appeared to be focused on the game at hand. No more waiting after this, the next game is the BIG GAME!!! This is what every fan of Ohio State, and Michigan lives for. Let's get it on!!!
|
OSU Survives Scare, Beats Illinois 17-10!!!
They had a horrible second half, but it was enough to beat Illinois. The Buckeyes for the first time this season looked beatable. Michigan also stumbled a bit today, so who knows what that means.
|
OSU Slaughters Minnesota, 44-0
Completing their first shutout since the Northwestern game in 2003, the Buckeyes once again completely dominated the game, even though they had 2 turnovers. The defense was amazing, Smith was amazing, Ginn was amazing, it was once again a game where the Buckeyes looked unbeatable. If there's a team on the schedule who can do it, it would be TTUN.
|
OSU Beats Indiana Black & Blue, 44-3
The Buckeyes got a bit of a slow start, but really rolled on Indiana beating them 44-3. It could easily have been a complete shutout. These guys look exceptional this year.
|
OSU Dismantles Michigan State, 38-7
The Buckeyes, well, what a game? This was another show of complete dominance by the Buckeyes. Michigan State once was a ranked team, they're a quality team. Next up, Indiana. Indiana beat Iowa today. Iowa won't be ranked anymore.
|
OSU Takes Care of BGSU, 35-7
The Buckeyes showed their dominance on both sides of the ball today. Ginn looked like he was in form, Gonzales almost had a great game. Smith looked very impressive, definitely a Heisman candidate. 6-0, good start. The Michigan game will once again be huge.
|
OSU Flattens Iowa in a 38-17 Rout!!!
This game was just an impressive effort by the Buckeyes. They mostly dominated the game. Their offense looked explosive, and the defense looked fantastic too, coming up with lots of interceptions. This team is just a juggernaut this year, they need to be careful not to trip down the line. The Michigan game looks HUGE this year, as with a lot of years.
|
OSU Defense Comes Up With Win VS. Penn State. 28-6
Ohio State's offense looked a bit flat in the rain at the horseshoe Saturday, but the defense looked amazing. They forced turn overs, scored most of the points, and dominated the game.
|
OSU Beats Cincinnati to Remain #1
Ohio State played a reasonably lame first half, but a great second half to beat the Bearcats, who are a respectable team in their own right. I thought it looked great seeing our up and coming stars performing in the 4th quarter. Ohio State is #1, and need only win the remainder of their games, no easy feat, to stay #1, and get a shot at the National Championship.
|
(1)OSU Handily Beats (2)Texas 24-7!!!
In a game that was all Ohio State, the Buckeyes showed why they're ranked #1. Troy Smith looked awesome, Ted Ginn did what everyone expected, Gonzales surprised everyone taking top honors for receiving and Tressel shined! Ohio State stands in a great position to return to the glory of being National Champs again.
|
Ohio State Picked #1 in USA Today Poll
USA Today picked Ohio State to be the preseason favorites to win the National Title. Can the Buckeyes return to their 2002 glory? I'll say this, I think they look quite tough. I've learned to trust Jim Tressel's ability to get the most out of every single one of his players. Hopefully the Buckeyes will win it all this year.
