Ohio State Buckeyes

Seasons -- 2005 -- 2006 -- 2007 -- 2008 -- 2009 -- 2010 -- 2011 -- 2012 -- 2013

2010 Record - 12-1 (All victories vacated by Ohio State, official record 0-1)

Ohio State Saves Victory Over Arkansas In Sugar Bowl, 31-26

Ohio State has now taken the lead with 6 BCS victories total, which broke a tie with Florida, and USC at 5 a piece. USC really has 4, because one of theirs was vacated. Jim Tressel played typical "Tresselball" scoring just enough points to win the game, and relying heavily on the defense. This was a wild game, that was a hard fought victory for the Buckeyes. I can tell you that after watching the game, I think if these 2 teams played 10 times, it'd be 6-4, or 5-5. Arkansas had a VERY high quality team for 2010, and save a few miscues, could have been in the National Championship Game. OSU also finally got that first bowl victory vs a SEC opponent. Prior to this, OSU had lost 9 straight bowl games against the SEC. The Buckeyes just keep on setting records under Jim Tressel. I also must be forced to admit that Heacock deserves an apology from me. His defense sealed this victory, and I have bashed him for the better part of 4 years, while during that time, he has put up very good numbers against very quality teams. I think due to the potential NFL lockout next season, we will return most of the team, but time will tell. Go Buckeyes!!! -- 1/5/11

Michigan Suffers Yet Another Loss to OSU, 37-7!!!

Ohio State finished the regular season with 4 straight wins after losing to Wisconsin, who is unquestionably the best team in the Big Ten this year. Today the Buckeyes won a share of their 6th straight Big Ten championship, which ties their own record. They share that with Wisconsin, and Michigan State. Wisconsin will go to the Rose Bowl, no question, and the Buckeyes will likely end up in the Sugar Bowl to see if they can get their first victory over an SEC opponent. We'll see. Tressel has now beaten Michigan 9 times in 10 meetings, winning the last 7 straight. No other Buckeye coach has ever done that, or even come close. Here's to hoping we can get another bowl victory. - 11/28/10

Wisconsin Dominates Ohio State, Wins 31-18

Ohio State was shocked early, and often in Camp Randall tonight, as the game went poorly from the opening play, with the Badgers returning the kick off for a touchdown. Pryor's throws were errant all night, and the Buckeyes were dominated on the line. They closed the game to 3 points in the 2nd half, but Wisconsin asserted themselves, and won. Wisconsin has always played the Buckeyes well, and you knew they had to win at some point. Irrespective, next week we have yet another new #1. - 10/16/10

Ohio State Manhandles Indiana, 38-10

Ohio State went out this week, and played solid football. Jim Tressel earned his 100th victory as a Buckeyes coach. Terrelle Pryor's play in this game was outstanding. The Buckeyes will be ranked #1 this weekend, as Alabama lost thoroughly to South Carolina. Oregon #2. - 10/10/10

Ohio State Survives Scare, Pryor Injured, OSU 24 - 13 Ill

Ohio State played behind for a bit of the game with Illinois, as Pryor had problems with an injury he received. He returned to the game in the 3rd quarter, and let the Buckeyes to victory, but you can see what would be going on this season without him. We should appreciate the player we have in him. Next week Indiana. - 10/2/10

Ohio State Outscores Eastern Michigan, 73-20

Today the Buckeyes scored more than they have since 1950, against Iowa in an 83-21 killing. Terelle Pryor continued to have an amazing season. Today the Buckeyes looked very good, but let's not forget that this Eastern Michigan squad doesn't beat anyone. I never would have guessed a Tressel squad would score this many points, but they certainly did. Go Buckeyes. - 9/26/10

Ohio State Takes Breather, Beats Ohio 43-7

Pryor had an outstanding game, setting an Ohio State record by completing 16 consecutive passes. Ohio State manhandled Ohio, which surprised noone. I might have seen the game, however mother nature decided to put a stop to that this week. My home is VERY near to where the tornado touched down. Irrespective, we start 3-0. Go Buckeyes! - 9/19/10

Ohio State Beats Miami, 36-24

The Buckeyes allowed 2 more returns for touchdowns, thus they need work on that. Terelle Pryor looked amazing, as usual. The Buckeyes defense played a very good game, forcing 4 turnovers. Ohio State will now go into the Big Ten schedule, being unbeaten. They could get back to the title game this year. We'll see how the next game goes, but I'm just happy to see us beat Miami yet again. - 9/11/10

Ohio State Manhandles Mediocre Marshall, 45-7

The Buckeyes began the 2010 season with a strong showing vs. Marshall, who is coming off a 6-6 season. Pryor performed like he never missed a beat from the 2010 Rose Bowl. I can't say much about this game, as I only followed it via the web. I will be watching the remaining games for this season, and will post results upon conclusion of the game. - 9/4/10

Ohio State Picked #2 In Preseason

The Ohio State Buckeyes field a strong team this year, with returning quarterback Tyrell Pryor. During the summer, the Big Ten expanded to 12 teams, for the 2011 season, by adding Nebraska. I've always liked Nebraska, and feel that they will be a very nice addition to the Big Ten. This expansion, allows the Big Ten to play a conference Championship game, which should extend the season to early December, and allow the Big Ten to make a much better showing in bowls from here on out. The Buckeyes, for 2010, stand a good chance of making it to the National Title game. They face a tough schedule with Miami, and away games at Wisconsin, who always give the Buckeyes trouble, and also at Iowa, another very good team. We shall see what 2010 brings. - 8/31/10
