Ohio State Buckeyes

Seasons -- 2005 -- 2006 -- 2007 -- 2008 -- 2009 -- 2010 -- 2011 -- 2012 -- 2013

2007 Record - 11-2
OSU Once Again Gets Crushed In The Title Game!!! LSU 38 - OSU 24

This year I got to watch OSU get manhandled in yet another National Title game, and all I can think is that Jim Heacock needs to learn how to handle the spread, Tressel needs to learn to run the ball, and on a positive note, we weren't even expected to win the Big Ten this year, so hopefully next year maybe we can win this game again? Who knows, but I love the Buckeyes anyhow, so hopefully next year will be a better year for us.

WVU Loses To Pitt 13-9, And Oklahoma Beats Missouri 38-17!!! OSU To Go Into Title Game Ranked #1!!!!!!

Well this year, being in the Big Ten is likely an advantage, because while other top ranked teams played, we sat at home, and watched. #2 West Virginia got beaten pretty soundly by Pitt, and Pat White played hurt for the second half. Oklahoma beat Missouri thoroughly beating them 38-17. Thus, for the 3rd time in 6 years OSU finds itself in the national title game, and who we will face is up to the computers, and coaches. I certainly hope OSU doesn't wind up embarrassed again this year, but if not, it'll make Jim Tressel's 2nd 1-A title, and 6th overall. Tressel is a fantastic coach, how can we have gotten better? We did stumble this year, but that's pretty much par for the course this year. Either way, we await word on who our opponents will be. We'll see whether OSU can match up this year.

OSU Wins 2nd In A Row In Ann Arbor, Beats Michigan 14-3!!! Tressel Is Now 6-1 Against Michigan!!!

Today Ohio State owned Michigan. The defense allowed only a field goal. Todd Boeckman looked fantastic, Chris Wells had an outstanding game, and OSU totally stopped Mike Hart. This is the 3rd time OSU has beaten Michigan 4 straight. Tressel is now 3-1 in Ann Arbor. Ohio State has just shined under Tressel. Yeah, last week's loss to Illinois was tough, but you can't win them all, especially this year. 14-3, what a game.

#1 OSU Gets Dropped At Home By Illinois, 28-21!!!

And today the streaks are over, OSU loses 28-21. They played ugly, and Illinois played a nearly flawless game, and OSU lost. We could not seem to stop the run today, and it cost us big. The title shot is now gone, but we have a chance to beat Michigan. Next week the toughest game of the year, Michigan, in Ann Arbor. Hope they finish 11-1. We'll see.

#1 OSU Powers Past Wisconsin In 4th Quarter, Wins 38-17!

And today Jim Tressel has yet another record... 20 straight Big Ten victories. No other Big Ten coach has ever done that. Ohio State looks great this year, but still quite beatable. I wouldn't expect this year to be a repeat of last year in the title game if OSU can get there. As with every other year, the Michigan game is the BIG game. If Tressel can manage his 4th straight victory over Michigan, then we WILL be in the title game. No question about that. Illinois though, isn't a push-over, and will offer a good game. Let's see what happens next week.

#1 OSU Dominates Penn St, And Remains Unbeaten, 37-17!

The wins just keep piling up for the Buckeyes, and there are 3 games left, with Wisconsin, and Illinois at home, and a road game to Ann Arbor. If OSU can run the table, they get the Big Ten title, and certainly a shot at the big game. If history serves, they'll be better off going in as an underdog by a Pac-10 team winning in December, like Oregon perhaps? They could do it. Either way, today the Buckeyes looked very impressive. They kept up their defense, though they've given up 17 each of the past 2 games. Let's see what next weekend brings.

#1 OSU Gets Scare, Playing A Lousy 4th Quarter, But Beating Michigan State, 24-17!

Well, it was ugly, but it was still a victory. During this season, virtually every team has stumbled, lost a game they counted on winning. OSU looked to be up for that role this weekend, but finally won the game, and thus we go to 8-0. It was our 26th straight regular season victory, by far the best record in the Div 1-A.

#3 OSU Handles Kent St. Easily, And LSU And Cal Both Lose, OSU Should Be #1!!!

Yet another crazy weekend. LSU lost to Kentucky, 43-37, Oregon State beat California, 31-28, and the Buckeyes won. The Buckeyes being #3 before, and with both #1, and #2 losing should be #1 this week. This also gave them their 25th straight regular season victory. Since the beginning of the 2005 season, they've only lost 3 times, twice coming to the winners of the title games. The Buckeyes look set to run the table, as Mike Hart was hurt today. Without Mike Hart, Michigan can hang up their shoes for the year. If they have Hart, the BIG GAME should once again prove to be just that. OSU always seems to be in the thick of things for the Michigan game. Still there are 5 games to go, so they had better bring their best game every single week.

#4 OSU Nearly Shuts Out #23 Purdue 23-7, And USC Loses To Stanford 24-23!!!

Another crazy weekend. Wisconsin loses to Illinois, and USC loses to Stanford, 40-point underdogs, 24-23. OSU dominated the Purdue contest throughout, not allowing Purdue to score till the 4th quarter, with less than 1 minute left. With the USC loss, OSU stands to be ranked atleast #3, but we'll see what the polls say. OSU looks great so far, but there are some VERY tough games left on their schedule, Penn St. in Happy Valley, Illinois, and Michigan in the Clown House.

BIG UPSETS IN NCAA THIS WEEKEND!!! OSU Prime To Skyrocket In Polls!!!

This weekend, third ranked Oklahoma lost to Colorado 27-24!, fourth ranked Florida lost to Auburn 20-17!, fifth ranked West Virginia lost to South Florida 21 to 13!, seventh ranked Texas lost to Kansas St.!, tenth ranked Rutgers lost to Maryland 34 - 24!, thirteenth ranked Clemson lost to Georgia Tech 13-3!, twentyfirst ranked Penn St. lost to Illinois 27 - 20!, and twentysecond ranked Alabama lost to Florida State 21-14!!!! What a weekend. Notre Dame is now officially 0-5! What a Saturday! Ohio State beat Minnesota 30-7, and thus are set to skyrocket, possibly to 4th in the polls. Any Buckeyes fan hopes for the unlikely, to go back to the National Title Game, but there are a lot of games left, and honestly the real meat of the schedule, including our next game, against Purdue. Go Buckeyes!!!

OSU Absolutely Decimates Northwestern 58-7!!!

This one was over before it even got started. OSU led 28-0 after the first quarter, and 45-0 at halftime. There's not a whole lot you can say about this game, but WOW!!!

I Finally Got To See A Game, OSU Beats Washington, In Washington 33-14!

OSU also got their 21st consecutive regular season victory. Can't complain if you're an OSU fan this year. How many great players did we lose to the NFL, but we just keep coming. OSU doesn't rebuild, they reload, as the famous quote goes. I love being a Buckeye fan sometimes.

Yet Another Blacked Out Game, and OSU Beats Akron 20-2!

Akron scored a safety against our beloved Buckeyes in the first quarter, but Ohio State still won easily. Who knows if it'll be enough to raise them a spot, but if there are any serious upsets today, then no doubt OSU has to move up in rank.

A Game Which Most Of Ohio Didn't See, Ohio State Over Youngstown State, 38-6!

Ohio State handled Youngstown State easily, but that's to be expected, Youngstown State is a VERY good team, but only Div. 1-AA. The Buckeyes appear to have made the correct choices, as Boeckman was fabulous, completing 17 passes in 23 attempts for 222 yards. Robiskie played well also, and the Wells boys will make us a formidable foe this year for the Big Ten. Michigan on the other hand, today lost to Appalacian State in Ann Arbor, the first time in history that a division 1-AA team has beaten a ranked division 1-A team. Lloyd Carr is going to be feeling the heat after this one, the fans up there can't possibly be happy about this one. Either way, Ohio State won, and I'm happy to hear it. Next up, Akron, then comes Washington. Go Buckeyes!

Ohio State Picked #10 in USA Today Poll

Well, this year if the Buckeyes want to return to the title game, they'll have to prove their worth it. Still NCAA Div 1-A football goes without a playoff system, like all other college sports. The Buckeyes will have a tough schedule this season, and won't be able to rely on the intimidation of being #1. Last year's end was quite disappointing, and I feel made a strong argument for a playoff system, but hey, who knows? I never played football in high school, nor have I done anything else besides just watch it all of my life. We'll see what this season brings.
