Ohio State Buckeyes
Seasons -- 2005 -- 2006 -- 2007 -- 2008 -- 2009 -- 2010 -- 2011 -- 2012 -- 2013
2008 Record - 10-3
Buckeyes Fall To Texas In Last 20 Seconds, 24-21
I don't know where to begin with this game. On one hand, the Buckeyes played a good game against a team that could easily have been in the title game. They also did so with a team that really won't come into it's own till next year when you'll see Herron, and Pryor play all season, and these 2 will certainly put up big numbers. On the other hand, you have to notice that the play that lost the game for the Buckeyes, was yet another zone blitz, where the defense got torched because they let the play get behind them, and then couldn't catch up. Whichever it was, this season was yet another BCS loss for our team, and we await better days. Hopefully next season the Buckeyes can deliver another national title to one of the best teams in college football, year in, and year out. Go Buckeyes!!!

Buckeyes Make History, Beat Michigan For Fifth Straight Year, 42-7!!!!
Jim Tressel is now 7-1 against Michigan, something noone could have in their wildest dreams predicted in 2001. For the first time in history we beat Michigan 5 years running, and the last time Michigan beat OSU five years running was 1923-1927. For the first time in 7 decades OSU tied a loss on a first year Michigan coach. Laurinaitis looked great, Pryor had a decent game, both Wells' did well. It was just really something else to see, despite the fact that Michigan didn't field a very good team this year. For the first time since 1968 OSU beat Michigan BIG. Four decades, that's insane!
|
Buckeyes Take Revenge For Last Season's Loss Of The Illibuck Trophy, 30-20
Pryor showed today that he has fully taken the reigns of the Buckeyes team, and the Buckeyes never had much doubt in this one. Beating Illinois, in Illinois. At the same time, Michigan managed a feat they have never done, in their 129 year history, and that is losing 8 games in 1 season. Next week we hope to hand them their 9th loss, and make history in the process. The last time either Michigan, or Ohio State beat the other for 5 consecutive years running, was 1922-1927, when Michigan beat the Buckeyes 5 years straight. Either way, the real season will be here next week. The Buckeyes are still able to clinch a share of the Big Ten title by winning next week.
|
Pryor Stands Out, OSU Rolls Over Northwestern, 45-10
Next year could hold big things for the Buckeyes, as this offense looks unstoppable when they're clicking. With 2 more games left in the regular season, the Michigan game looms. If OSU can manage to win that game it'll be the first time in the modern era when one of the two beat the other 5 straight years. Tressel has only lost a handful of games in the past 4 years, but the title games are the ones that always stick out. Hopefully we can right that next season. This season we are looking for a piece of the Big Ten title.

OSU Commits Too Many Errors, Loses To Penn St., 13-6
Tonight OSU fumbled the ball, and threw interceptions to give Penn St. the victory, and I believe mismanaged the clock. Either way, this is loss #2 on the season, and so we look forward to next season. I think Pryor will be a star soon enough, but tonight he wasn't able to throw anything long, and more or less didn't. The 3rd quarter brought the problems on, and the Buckeyes did nothing to solve them in the 4th quarter. Anyhow, next week we play Northwestern.
|
OSU Offense Actually Shines, Beats Michigan St. Easily, 45-7!!!
The Pryor-Wells show continued again today, after a break last week, and OSU easily outplayed Michigan St. today. Next week comes one of our BIG games, playing Penn. St. All of the ESPN "analysts" are calling for a Penn St. victory, however I think it's quite likely OSU will handle Penn St. Hard to say, sometimes we do very well against Penn St, sometimes not so well. Either way, a week from now we get to find out.
|
OSU Offense Stinks, But They Get The Win Over Purdue, 16-3
OSU had a horrible day offensively, however good defense, and special teams gave the Buckeyes a strong victory. The offense didn't score a touchdown today, and I feel that's bad for this year. However, OSU should be expected to need to reload every few years. Either way, there it is.
|
OSU Uses Fourth Quarter To Beat Wisconsin, 20-17!!!
OSU served notice tonight, that they WILL be a power to be reckoned with on the national stage, again. With Pryor, and Wells heading a 2-headed backfield, tonight OSU beat Wisconsin, in Camp Randall. Terell Pryor ran in a touchdown with 1:08 left, to give the Buckeyes the win, and I believe if Boeckman had been the QB, we wouldn't have won. Either way, this should give us a bit of a boost in the polls. I feel we may be able to run the remainder of the schedule, but it won't be easy, as we face Penn St, who looks like the toughest team in the Big Ten.
|
OSU Looks Much Improved With Beanie Back, Beats Minnesota 34-21
This week, OSU finally had all of its weapons, and it showed. They had a great game, and Pryor looked like the stud he is. Minnesota isn't the greatest team in the world, but they are much improved. OSU still looks to me like a team that gives up too many points. It's time Heacock went! I will keep saying that until he's gone. I don't like the way he runs our defense, and I believe he needs to be replacement. Irrespective OSU got another victory, and we march on towards the BIG GAME!
|
Terrell Pryor Shines As OSU Downs Troy 28-10!!!
Today OSU still didn't look like a championship caliber team, but they did beat Troy, with the help of freshman Terrell Pryor, who threw for 4 touchdowns in the victory. Next year, if we can transition to the spread offense ourselves, we should be very strong, however this year, well... Still, we're now 3-1, and next week brings Minnesota. Hopefully we can use this year to build up for next, as it looks like this will be a reloading year for the Buckeyes. They've been very beatable lately, and today they still didn't shine, but things are looking up. The rest of the country doesn't want to see another OSU title game, and frankly, I don't want to see them stink up the joint again.
|
OSU Gets Thoroughly Beaten, 35-3!!!
Tonight OSU was outplayed in every facet of the game. Had they not beaten themselves, they likely would have been beaten anyhow. I for one, wonder how much longer Jim Heacock will remain? This guy needs to learn defense. He doesn't impress me much. Anyhow, USC looks like a championship caliber team, and I for one think they'll run away with the championship this year. They've dispatched a lot of teams, and Pete Carroll does a good job with them. Anyhow, we still have the real game coming, the one at the end of the season, though Michigan lost yet again. Tonight the Irish looked like a better team than they were last year. Irrespective the season continues on... OSU 2-1.
|
OSU Survives Major Scare Vs. Ohio U, 26-14
Today, Ohio University played a better game for 3 quarters, and led the Buckeyes 14-6, at one point in the game. Finally, during the 4th quarter, the Buckeyes started putting together the lead, and scored 20 unanswered point, to win the game. Next game, USC, in LA. This should be a hard game. I'll be interested to see who wins. USC looks like they could easily beat us. I'll say that, yet again, Jim Heacock needs to go, the Buckeyes can't stop the spread, and that's obvious. This game really scared me. Anyways, we got the victory, and saw Terell Pryor. Go Buckeyes!
|
OSU Beats YSU 43-0
Well, the Buckeyes had their warm up game, beating Youngstown State 43-0. Terrell Pryor got his feet wet in the Buckeyes offensive scheme. Pretty uneventful game. Pretorius made a 50 yard field goal, and Pettrey made one of 54 yards, that was great, nice feet.

The Buckeyes Are Picked #2 By The Associated Press
Our beolved Buckeyes are picked #2 by the Associated Press, and looking forward to the season, we have a MAJOR test right off the bat. The second game of the season is OSU playing USC in Los Angeles. If we win, we're virtually a lock for #1, if not, well it's a long road. An even more impressive fact is that this season we have a chance to do something that hasn't been done in modern history, and that is beat the Wolverines 5 straight times. They haven't beaten us that many times in a row either. Should be an interesting season. Check soon and I'll have the 2008 editions of the Buckeyes Football page, and High School Football page setup. Either way, GO BUCKCYES!!!!
